Shivering Al Gore Sculpture Confronts Global Warming

Alaskan businessman has unveiled a 5-ton ice sculpture of Gore as an invitation to discuss global-warming theories.

Craig Compeau of Fairbanks describes himself as a moderate skeptic of those who "rabidly" believe man-made emissions are contributing to a rise in global temperatures.

"Be skeptical. Or not. But research it yourself...There's a lot on both sides."

The sculpture was created by local artist Steve Dean, who began sculpting the statue about two weeks ago when much of Alaska was suffering from one of the coldest snaps in recent memory. By the time he finished the temperature had warmed to record-breaking highs in the upper 40s.

Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for raising awareness of global warming as one of the greatest challenges facing mankind.

What others are saying

  • hide the decline
I have closely studied the global warming myth for the past 10 years, and have noted the arguments between the world's leading scientists concerning the validity of the ice melting in certain areas but rapidly forming in others and the decline in temperatures around the planet which was proved to be hidden by the scientists involved in the climategate email scandal. Now the earth goes through many cycles since it cooled after formation and most scientists believe we are actually headed for another ice age, which our government is quite aware of and are trying to prevent this by heating up the jet streams in the oceans around the world using the HAARP antenna and scaler technology, which is causing extreme and adverse weather conditions that they blame on global warming so that they can impose carbon control laws that amount to more control over all the countries of the world. This is huge, and the more people become aware and do their own research, the better chance we all have of understanding the whole situation. Please be skeptical of my statements and do your own research, I implore you.
