A 74-year-old woman told Volusia County deputies her boyfriend strangled and beat her because she loaded the dishes into their dishwasher the wrong way. Lillian Keller told deputies her live-in boyfriend, 82-year-old Joseph F. Strauch became angry on Wednesday after she loaded the dirty dishes, a Volusia County Sheriff's Office report said. Strauch strangled Keller until she was unconscious, and punched her, causing a contusion on her right arm, the report said. Keller told deputies Strauch physically abused her the night before as well. The reporting deputies observed cuts and blood on Keller's legs and redness around her neck. She was transported to an area hospital. Strauch was arrested on a count of felony battery and booked into the Volusia County Jail.
