Jim Bishop retired in 1994 after serving 22 years with the Orlando Police Department. The last 16 years on the department he served as Crimeline Coordinator and through his many years on T.V. presenting Crimeline re-enactments he earned the title of "Officer Jim."
In 1985 Officer Jim began joining Jim Turner every Friday for weekly Crimeline updates. After retiring from O.P.D. Jim joined WDBO on a full time basis as Jim Turner's side kick and as the "I-4 Traffic Cam Reporter."
In his spare time he assists the Florida Safety Council by teaching the Basic Driver Improvement Course. -So if you get a ticket and need to take a class, ask for Officer Jim's. The whole Bishop family is dedicated to helping the public. Jim's wife, Betsy, has been a special education teacher and a literacy facilitator for Orange County Schools for over 30 years. His daughter, Michelle, is a physical therapist for Florida Hospital and his son, James, is a paramedic/firefighter for the Orlando Fire Department.
Every weekday morning, Jim can be heard on Central Florida's Morning News with Orlando's most frequent traffic reports to make sure you get to work on time!
