Sanford to get new train terminal

Amtrak to build the new terminal for the popular "auto train".

Congressman John Mica got together with all the power players in Sanford this morning. The new station is coming, the roads are awful.

"To figure out some way to enhance the road access to this new multi-million dollar terminal."

Construction is expected to start late Spring with Sanford's new auto train terminal to open in 2010. The new terminal will be able to handle double the number of passengers on that popular train that brings cars from Lorton, Virginia to Sanford, and it is also expected to haul trucks similar to what is ofter done in Europe.

Sanford Auto Train
It's about time! I don't use this service, but I do maintain the telecommunications circuits. The place is so old and nasty it's a nightmare to work there! The roads do need repair as well. It's not going to help the old broken-down trains much, though!
