Suspicious teen hit by traffic

An Orange County Sheriff's Office deputy saw two Hispanic males on bicycle in the area of Goldenrod and Sun Vista committing traffic violations.
The deputy merely made a "U-Turn" without his emergency lights on when the males ditched their bicycles behind a convenience store and ran on foot onto Three Point Elementary School property.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies established a perimeter and were awaiting the helicopter and K-9 when one male exited a wood line on Goldenrod Rd. near Sun Vista Rd.and tried to run across the street.
Deputies say the 16-year-old did not watch for traffic and was struck by a truck traveling north on Goldenrod Rd.
Alex Rosa was taken to ORMC in stable condition.
The other Hispanic male was not captured.
The sheriff's office says Rosa has a criminal background, including grand theft, burglaries and drugs.
He's been charged with trespassing, loitering and possessing some marijuana.
