Tea party protesters rally at Lake Eola

Thousands of protesters at Lake Eola carried signs, flags and even dressed in colonial costumes during a Tea Party rally on Saturday against massive government spending and taxing.
Tampa resident Debbie Lum came with her husband and two sons.
"My husband and I pay high taxes, and every year, where are we going to get the money to pay more," Lum said. "We dont get tax refunds."
Her message is simple.
"People can't afford this," she said. "Stop the spending."
Lum said this is one of many grassroots efforts to raise awareness about wasteful government spending that will affect the younger generations.
Retired veteran Bob Willett from The Villages, said President Obama has been dishonest.
"He has thousands of pork, and he said he wasn't going to have any pork," Willet said.
National TEA party rallies are planned for April 15.

- Sour GrapesDuring the early George W. Bush years, protestors to the start of the war were labeled as unpatriotic for not supporting the president. I think the same could be said for Tea Party protestors. They are not supporting the legally elected President of the United States. Proposing an overthrow of a president is unpatriotic.

So I would like everyone to know republic means to govern by law "the Constitution" rather than democracy which means govern by the majority. There is excessive government intervention and greed that got us in this economic mess. Follow the law or pay consequences. Do not reward the bad. That sends a wrong message. Americans must follow the principles of our Constitution for the sake of our founding fathers and the sake of our freedom.
