Overnight raids net 88 arrests
Orange County Deputies arrested 88 people as they cracked down on criminals in a one-night effort to clean up the streets.
Lawmen dubbed it operation "New Sheriff in Town."
"Manslaughter, rape, robbery, we we're targeting repeat offenders," said Jeff Williamson with the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
The offensive comes straight from sheriff Demings, who promised a new effort to fight violent crime.
"He is going to do everything he can to be as proactive as possible," Williamson said.
The operation stretched from Apopka to Bithlo; 112 warrants were served
"We tried to concentrate on the places where there would be the majority of warrants served, but it was a countywide operation," Williamson said.
