We live in a society where the choices we make result in consequences. Your brother made numerous choices that night - to drink to the point of impairment, to drive, and then to drive fast. The result of these choices resulted in the death of two people. To reduce his actions as a "mistake" and an "accident" is a joke. He DID intend on hurting someone that night - do you really think he didn't know what COULD happen after those choices? He knew, and he still did it. He had intent, in my book. He just didn't know the faces of those he intended on hurting at the time. Now he does. Anything less than 20 years in prison is a travesty of justice. A message needs to be sent - only when we, as a society, stop accepting impaired driving as a lapse in judgement will we stop seeing innocent people killed on a nightly basis.

First of all, I have to say RIP Julie and Charlotte. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I think we have all forgot that this was an accident. As tragic as it may be, thats the reality of it. Not an act of intent, but an accident.
My brother Adam, is NOT a bastard and no amount of your hate will make him that. I know you all are grieving over the loss of these two girls, but that doesnt make him anything less that what he is. Hes a smart, funny, caring, God fearing young man who loves his children, and his family. He is not a malicious person without a heart, and despit your beliefs, he feels this just as you all do. Im sure all of you would love to know, that dreadful night haunts his dreams almost nightly, and probably will for the rest of his life. Linda, he has turned himself in voluntarily, and wants to face this nightmare head on. The news says he was apprehended trying to reenter the country. But he, as well as the rest of us, knew coming back into the country was the same as walking into the jail itself. Jackie, Im sorry about your sister, but she was drinking, she too decided to get behind the wheel and drive, just because she was just under the LEGAL limit, doesnt mean she wasnt drunk, and then to add weed to the equation only asks for a rough ride home from "work". This is a sad story, but its not as cut and dry as your comment makes it out to be. I dont think he deserves to rott in prison, this wasnt an intentional act of violence, he didnt want them to die. But tragically due to a car accident thats what happened. What if the tables were turned and Adam died that accident, would you all think Julie and Charlotte should rott in prison? Ive read all the comments of Natalies myspace blog, and respect everyones feeling and understand the grief and pain you all are enduring. But to send this young (24 yr old) man to prison for these horrific charges is extreme. I agree that Jaelyn and Dacostas loss is devastating, and their mothers lives will always be remembered, but this doesnt mean Adams children should be fatherless too. We dont live in an "eye for an eye" community and to think this way would be more malicious than anything Adam did or thought on that day of July 24th.
I read one of you say "No matter what happens, he will never understand the pain he caused for the family's of these young women." Why not? Could you be that blinded by you anger and hatred to think he doesnt understand the pain THIS ACCIDENT has caused? Well, he does.

I'm so sorry for you and your families loss. I know how hard it has been as I am going thru it also. Be strong, pray and have confidence that God will get you thru this.

You say you loved Charlotte but yet you take ya'lls daughter from Charlotte's side of the family leaving no contact. Don't you think Charlotte would want Jaelyn to know her mother's side of the family.
No body has filed any papers for custody of your daughter. I would hope you could find it in your heart to contact me and let me be a part of my granddaughters life. Think: Jaelyn is the only part of MY daughter that I have left. How would you feel if someone took your daughter from you?
Many lives have been torn apart as a result of one persons indiscretion. He will have to answer for his indiscretions don't make the same mistakes.

To Adam,
I want you to know you have taken one of the most precious people in my life away from us. Charlotte was a beautiful, caring and forgiving person. You made the decision to drink, drive and speed. You need to be a man and take care of this part in your life and learn from your mistakes and grow. What kind of a life are you setting your son up for?
Nothing can bring my daughter back and i have learned to live with the loss but you need to do what is right and turn your self in.

I'm Charlotte's babies father and her fiance. This crash has ruined my life.The driver that caused the accident was over the legal limit and Julie was not over the limit.Now if the girls were drinking at there job thats illegal because nether one was over 21 years old. I am raising our daughter and fighting inlaws for custody of my baby all because a stupid lawsuit. The driver at fault is still at large and the police are trying to locate him for his trial. If anyone knows where he his i urge you with all my heart to please turn him in so that what is called justice can be served.There will never be justice in this case, two young mothers are now gone for what reason.
