Senator Nelson expects moon mission approval
Senator Bill Nelson told reporters in his Orlando office that he expects the blue ribbon panel called to review the manned space program to approve plans to return to the moon.
"I think you will see that panel say the Ares rocket and the Orion capsule (NASA photos) are the way we need to go."

"Then if the president will get behind pushing that, we can speed up development of the new rocket," he added.
NASA has already spent $6.9 billion on its plan to return to the moon. The review team will be headed by former Lockheed Martin CEO Norman Augustine.
The first ground test of the Ares I first stage is scheduled for later this year in Utah.
According to NASA's website, A mock-up of the spacecraft that will carry the next generation of astronauts to the moon and beyond is traveling down the East Coast and undergoing tests to help NASA understand its performance in water.
