Dry timber and low humidity are fueling wildfire in east Orange County.

If you're on the east side you probably smell the smoke. It's coming from 1,000 acres of wildfire burning on both sides of Taylor Creek Rd. near Christmas.

Orange County Firefighters have plowed fire lines through the woods in an attempt to control the spread.

The wind is cooperating for now and blowing the flames away from houses.  But they could be in danger if the wind shifts.

Meanwhile, 3,000 acres are burning in Volusia County near the Lake Harney Woods subdivision. About 100 firefighters are at the scene working to protect nearby houses. So far, two homes received heat damage, but none have caught fire.

Officials are monitoring the weather; an afternoon sea breeze could make the fire difficult to contain.
