"A great book has to be written obviously," said Hansen. "But that's 10 percent of the book, so what we teach everyone to do is how to market a book to best sellerdom whatever that means to them."

Organizer Mark Victor Hansen should know. He's behind the successful Chicken Soup series.

He stresses that writers need to come up with a good title that's going to attract readers and books need to be targeted to a specific audience.

"You've gotta know where you market is before you begin," said Hansen. "You begin at the end. You say where is the market for this book?"
