Why did two monorail trains collide?
Former pilots are speculating on line.

I spoke with a man who spent a decade piloting the monorail at Disney. Bobby Schwab and his fellow pilots have been debating what happened on line, looking at every picture and video they can. He believes Austin Wuennenberg's train was just leaving the station when another train backed into him, overriding the safety system. That 2nd pilot should have been switched to another track.
"You just have to make sure both trains are on separate tracks when they override the system, so that what we... Looking at the photographs and the video, that's what appears may have happened."
Schwab says it would have taken multiple failures for this to happen, but still, he says the monorail is safe. He would not hesitate to ride.
I want people to hopefully feel the same way."
The NTSB will now investigate the crash, an unusual step. The Feds don't normally look at crashes of a private system on private property. Disney will cooperate with the probe.
