Alan Grayson says Republicans want you to die!
Our freshman Congressman made that statement on the floor of the House last night, and it's sending shockwaves through Congress. Watch video below
It's something he's said before in group settings, but never in such hallowed place as the US Capitol on the House floor. "This is what the Republicans want you to do. If you get sick America, the republican health care plan is this: Die quickly!"
The comment immediately drew the ire of House Republicans.. They called on him to apologize immediately. Grayson did not. Watch the video of Grayson's speech below then post your comments.

Passing a bill like this puts America on a slippery slope. We are facing a huge deficit. All the other countries with health care have long long long lines, and under qualified doctors who could care less about how hard they work because they receive a flat salary.
Anyone who wants this bill to pass is out of their minds. They have taken over the car industry. They have taken over the banking industry, the tobacco industry, they have spent a Trillion dollars on a horrible bill that was put together in a day. They gave an OSU teacher 1.1 MILLION dollars in a grant as part of the stimulus package to study ALASKAN GRANDPARENTS. They want to shrink our military, stop spending on defense and anti terrorism.
Basically, they want to ruin our economy and make America so weak that we fall into a dictatorship. Watch as it unfolds. Obama, the modern herbert hoover.

I witnessed Mark Kirk, my republican congressman (10th) from Illinois and running for Senate from Illinois in '10, have a ridiculous town hall meeting filled with charts, graphs, percentages to show an insurance governed health care plan by "centrist" republicans in the House. The only people attending this were seniors who are fearful. Kirk kept this townhall quiet from dems and purposely scheduled it on a weekday morning so only the republican people in his district would attend. Wrong some of us dems came. What we heard was so disgusting and filled with lies, smears and untruths, if you are aware, you would gag.
This man wants to be in the Senate.
The counter to this was the next day to see Alan Grayson rip these republicans a new A hole. These people do not care about people. They care about the corporate profits that fill their contributions. They are not bound by who elected them.

Actually, although Wilson was disrespetful, he was acurate in his statement. Grayson is both disrespectful and wrong with his statement. Republicans do not want Americans to die. They want to reform healthcare in a moderate way. We do have a great healthcare system. Plenty of Americans get sick all the time and receive great care. Republicans want to preserve this aspect. They want to fix the specific parts that are broken and leave the good parts alone.
A valuable lesson I learned as an Air Force jet mechanic is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Rookie jet mechanics would always tinker around with their jets "fixing" things that were not broken, and they would end up causing more leaks and malfunctions on things that used to work fine. One leak can be fixed by tightening a hydraulic line. Wheras removing and replacing the component would cause five new leaks. Moral of the story: Fix what is broken and leave the rest as it is. That is the Republican plan for healthcare. Fix what is broken and leave the parts that work alone. The Dems want to overhaul the ENTIRE healthcare system, and I can assure you, that amount of tinkering will BREAK more than it fixes. - GraysonGlad you spoke the truth. - The commentaryI have read with much interest all the commentary that has taken place to this point. I will add my additional thoughts to the blog.
There are always two sides to each argument, usually based on some ideology. While I would agree that it took a bull elephant size set of b*lls to do what he did is not a point I would disagree with. However, just because you aren't afraid to express an unpopular opinion does not mean that the person expresssing it is correct. All bullies have all the same traits demonstrated by this dolt in his dissertation. My question to all those who believe he was right to stand up to the conservatives is this. Why did the German people in Nazi Germany all support Hitler and vote him into office? Do you not see the parallels being played out in all this? When are you going to wake up? Being free is great, but is does have a price attached to it. If you are not willing to pay that price, then my advice to you is to move to Europe (France in particular) and "enjoy" all the socialism you can stand. - Grayson IS NOT a trial lawyer. He worked for Federal Judges on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. Two of who later served on the Supreme Court. Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Antonin Scalia. And a third Judge who was nominated but not confirmed, Robert Bork. After that he worked for the Alliance for Aging Research, which provides services to Baby Boomers and the like as they age to help them lead healthy and productive lives even as they grow older. As for his comments, I agree. The Republicans need to offer substantive ideas or expect to be mocked. And Chicago corruption? What about Jack Abramoff? What about Mark Foley? What about no WMD's? Before you start accusing Democrats of corruption maybe you should look in your own closet. At least we've had the good sense to kick our people out.
