Hundreds turn out for free flu shots
Hundreds showed up at First Baptist Church of Pine Castle Monday morning to receive a free seasonal flu shot from the Orange County Health Department, but some of them left disappointed.

The department started administering the 200 shots at 9:00, and by 9:30 more than a hundred people had rolled up their sleeves.
Bonnie Guisinger was one of the lucky ones.
"I get it every year, so it'll keep me from getting the flu," said Guisinger. "I've had real bad colds, and it does seem to curb that, too. I haven't had a real bad cold in a long time."
Harrison Lewis made it in time, too.
"I just got it on the radio, heard that they were giving them out [and] thought I better get one," said Lewis.
But by 10:15 the department had given all 200 shots and had to turn some people away.
Another free flu shot giveaway is planned for Wednesday, August 23 from 9:00 to noon at the East Orange Community Center on 12050 E. Colonial Drive in Orlando.
What others are saying
- Important Prevention TipMy child came home from school the other day saying that they learned to cough and sneeze into their elbow with Germy Wormie, and I was totally taken aback. I always covered with my hands. But I went to the website and now I get it, hands touch, elbows don't!! Kids can touch 300 surfaces in 1/2 hour and they hate to wash their hands. This is a simple thing that can make a huge difference.
