Orange Co. crime spree ends in apparent suicide
An armed robbery investigation in Orange County ended with the apparent suicide of one of the suspects.

Orange County deputies say 24-year-old Jarrett Gallagher and 23-year-old Quentin Jenkins are responsible for a series of five violent robberies that began Tuesday night. In Apopka, a victim who said he didn't have any cash was shot in the back. On the east side, two victims were pistol whipped.
"One of them had a Halloween mask on and was armed with a handgun, and they were driving a black, SUV-type vehicle," said Commander Rick Luckey.
Luckey says an off-duty deputy spotted that vehicle and and followed it into the Chapel Trace Apartments on Goldenrod Road.
"When he finally found the vehicle, it was abandoned, the doors were standing open, and the lights were on," said Luckey.
Deputies found Gallagher and two women in an apartment. As they approached a bedroom, they heard a gunshot and found Jenkins dead, the victim of an apparent suicide.
The two women inside the apartment were questioned and released. Gallagher has been arrested.
Giovanni Matos lives in the apartment downstairs and says he woke up to a loud commotion.
"Three real big bangs, police everywhere, helicopters, everything," Matos said.
He says he never had any trouble with his neighbors in the past, and to hear about this type of violence so close to home is disturbing.
"They were really nice people," Matos said. "We never thought that would happen."
