Apparent home invader shot to death by homeowner
A 25-year-old man was shot to death on Orlando's west side while apparently trying to break into a home.

WDBO's sister station, Channel 9 Eyewitness News, is identifying the dead suspect as Mark Clark. He was found outside the front door of 5369 Botany Court, near Kirkman Road, around 7:30 Wednesday night.
The Orlando Police Department has not provided any details other than that they're working a death investigation. The homeowner's mother said her daughter heard three men trying to break into the house and opened fire. The other two suspects ran away.
What others are saying
- the futureMark Clark was 25 yrs old. By F.B.I. statistics he would have committed the same types of crimes 7x a year each year into the future. Imagine the cost and human suffering Mark Clark would have cost the people of Orlando over the next 10 years. The woman who shot Clark not only protected herself saved hundreds of people from the future ravages by Mark Clark. This woman is a hero and we all thank her enormously.
- Thank God For Castle Doctrine & 2nd Amendment!Good job! Every state, country, town, municipality in this entire U.S. of A. should absolutely have the CASTLE DOCTRINE! I would do the same thing to protect my home, family and self! Good job!
- Thank YouThank you, ma'am, for doing what needed to be done. You may have saved someone's life in the future by stopping a thug now.
Thank you! - Castle doctrineA man's and for that matter woman's home is their castle!
- JusticeThe more this happens, the more these criminals will think twice about robbing and home invasions!
- Love it!I love to hear about one of these dirt bags thieves getting shot. Fight back good people! Its That much better when a woman is out there defending herself. This guy wont be robbing anyone else. Good job lady!!
- Apparent home invader shot to death by homeownerKudos to the homeowner. The only regret is that he didn't shoot the other two burglars.
- I salute the homeowner for their use of the 2nd AmendmentThank you ma'am, for saving the city of Orlando the time and money it would've taken in court months from now in having you and/or family members waste time on the witness-stand to "prove" this guy had broken into your home and cause any irreparable mental anguish to you or your family, and risk the criminal going back on the streets on a "technicality", only to continue hurting other people. You successfully ended this altercation with one draw of a weapon, in one night, only costing you a broken-in door and however many bullets were fired, and the usual transportation costs to the Coroner/Morgue. To the 2 suspects that ran away, I hope your days are numbered.
I am not insensible to the family of the Invader that got killed, but it seems that it is only after the criminal is brought down by a potential-victim that then all of the sudden "Family" or "Friends" the criminal probably didn't even know were still around just come out of the woodwork and claim "...but he was such a good person at heart...he (or she) didn't deserve to die like that...", and try to turn the tables to make the person rightfully defending their private property (or livelihood, in the case of a Business-owner), to be the supposed criminal instead.
I don't agree with anyone that, if the "know" their relative is up to no good, tries to claim "victim" status for them when they finally make the wrong turn and hit a dead-end in Life. If you have family that is in any trouble, do Interventions, commit then to Psychiatric Observation, do ANYTHING in your power to rehabilitate them. Angrily protesting after-the-fact when they're in jail, or dead, is too late.
Again, I applaud the homeowner, we need more of them throughout the Country. We had a Homeowner's Association try enforcing a "no-guns" law in a residence complex here in Florida that as I understood, after an overwhelming spike in home invasions, had to get rid of that stupid lawn and voila: the same group of idiots came back for another visit and the targeted house along with 2 other homeowners gave them the surprise. None were killed but all were arrested receiving treatment at the nearby hospital all shocked, just shocked "...if we'd know they all had guns we'd never rob there..." And yes, that is exactly the choice of words that were uttered to the arresting officers (thanks for the update guys). - Home invaderThe second amendment strikes again. Thank God for guns. Today we would be reading another story about how a woman and her three children where brutally robbed, beaten or killed. Instead we get great news about a homeowner who defended her family and eliminated one more scumbag from the planet. Amen.
