Breast Cancer Survivor Speaks Out

Jill Levin went straight to the doctor when she noticed something wrong with her right breast. Jill was only 30 at the time and the doctor was concerned enough to send her for a mammogram.
The radiologist agreed something was wrong, but because of her young age, told Levin to wait three months.
"If I would have waited, I would not be alive today." Levin tells us.
Levin did not feel right about the diagnosis and went to a surgeon. The doctor removed a 4 centimeter tumor from her right breast. Then during her masectomy the surgeon discovered a second tumor in her left breast.
"Most cancer in younger patients is more aggressive." Levin says.
Levin is a survivor, and is now outraged that the government is changing their recommendation for women to wait until age 50 for a mammogram.
Levin says this " will set us back another 20 years. People will think that breast cancer is an older womans disease, and it isn't!"
Levin is planning to fire off letters to the editor and to her congressmen. She hopes insurance companies will not change their guidelines for paying for mammograms. But she says if you have to pay for one yourself, "It is well worth it."
The American Cancer Society still recommends regualr mammograms beginning at age 40.
What others are saying
- programmed healthcareThis is only the tip of the iceberg. Pelosi said that the bill would NOT have a panel to determine who needs healtcare and how much. Grayson is a huge proponent of that provision as well. That recommendation was made by a panel of leftist college professors who have nothing better to do. Even though most are MDs, they don't have a clue about the practical applications of healthcare. When the next election comes around, DON'T forget this and clean house. PUN intended.
