Congressman holds "emergency" tele town hall on health care
If you'd like to have your say on the House Democrats' health care reform plan, you'll have a chance Tuesday night during a telephone town hall.

Congressman John Mica says he's calling this "emergency" town hall because there could be a vote on the Democrat's plan sometime this week.
"There's no way I can support the bill as proposed," said the Winter Park Republican. "It has huge tax increases. It has penalties for some people who already have coverage. One of my greatest concerns is about half of it's funded through cuts in Medicare for our senior citizens."
Mica says during his last telephone town hall his constituents were overwhelmingly against a government option. But with a vote looming, he wants to hear their thoughts now.
"There are ways we can reform health care and make it more accessible and affordable for everyone rather than having the government develop its own plan and get into health care in a much bigger way," he said.
Mica's last tele town hall drew more than 5,600 callers, but it's unclear if tonight's event will draw a similar crowd.
"We can take up to 25,000 on the call," said Mica. "We welcome anyone to participate, listen in, or ask questions or comment."
Tonight's town hall runs from 7:30 to 10:00. Only those who live in the 7th Congressional district can participate. You can either sign up online or by calling one of Mica's district offices.
