Headless panther found near Florida Turnpike
The body of the endangered panther was discovered Thursday on the southbound side of the turnpike near YeeHaw Junction.
But when the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) arrived at the scene they were surprised.
"When our officer got there they discovered that it did not have a head. It had been cut off" said Joy Hill.
Posessing panther parts is a felony without a permit.
The FWC is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
The Wildlife Alert Hotline number is 888.404.3922.
