Mike Huckabee visits Orlando, blasts Obama administration
Former GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee will be in Orlando Monday night.

The former Arkansas governor says he learned a lot through his unsuccessful bid for the nomination.
"Well, one of the big lessons to be learned was you've got to have a lot more money than I had to compete successfully," he said.
Huckabee wouldn't say if he plans to run for the White House again. But he has a lot to say about President Obama's plan to try 9-11 terror suspects in the United States.
"Well, I think it's absurd, and I think the Obama administration will be as much on trail as Khalid Sheikh Mohammed," said Huckabee.
He says the terror suspects will use their trials as a platform to spout anti-American venom.
"And God help us if they get off on a technicality because of the way the evidence was gathered," said Huckabee. "I would tell you not only is the Obama administration finished, I think the Democratic Party is finished."
Huckabee will be signing copies of his new book, A Simple Christmas, Monday night from 8:00 to 9:00 at the Barnes and Noble in the Colonial Plaza Market Center on 2418 East Colonial Drive in Orlando.
What others are saying
- Set Huckabee Backer and Bashers Side by SideHuckabee has said that one of the problems with running for President is that there are so many who are able to malign a candidate on cyberspace where there is no opportunity to answer them. Anyone who wants to be objective, please set comments of his backers and his bashers side by side, and then see which are more substantive and which are devoid of substance and emotional. After that check Huckabee out and let him speak for himself. Let's stick to the issues and leave personal attacks aside. Then if someone still disagrees, it is actually meaningful.
- The ConstitutionCan any of the right wingers explain why the constitutional guarantees to a trial in the location where the crime was committed, do not apply?
Please read article 3 section 2 of the US Constitution. The right to a trial in the location of the crime is not restricted to citizens.
Elected officials take an oath to preserve protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. That is exactly what the Obama administration is doing, despite the partisan ranting of the far right who profess allegiance to the constitution but toss it in the trash can whenever doing so might prove to be politically advantageous. - Just another loser destroying the US by using all means to gain power. Typical republican crap.
- Having researched his time in AR for myself rather than accepting the word of people who have an agenda, it is clear that Huckabee is a man with an impeccable executive resume.
He did not put a steeple on the state house in Arkansas & he did not preach to the people he governed. He is open about his beliefs to those who ask, but he has NEVER pushed them on anyone.
Nor would he since he believes, as do the vast majority of Christians, that it is not only counter-productive, but wrong to do so - as Christianity holds that the free will of man is endowed by his Creator & grants man a certain self-determining dignity that is to be respected & upheld.
Huckabee cleared out a lot of the bureaucratic bloat & improved efficiency in AR - no mean feat. Despite the smears, the only things he spent money on were exactly the things people WANT the govt. to attend to - things like improving children's health, education & necessary road improvements.
He served with a totally partisan Democrat legislature (who literally nailed his office door shut) & yet managed to turn a painful deficit around into a very impressive surplus during his time in office. This is why he was picked as one of the Top 5 governors in the country by Time magazine - hardly a group of religious fanatics hoping to usher in a theocracy.
In fact, one wonders how our country survived with so many devout Christians as president before - or are we to seriously believe that the same Christianity that served as the founding principles for our Democratic Republic has suddenly become its greatest threat? It is virtually oxymoronic.
Huckabee is a principled man who genuinely cares & loves his country more than his resume - a statesman rather than a politician -- & is exactly what our country needs to turn things around & move us back into a positive direction. - Facts not LibelMike Huckabee was out spent 10 to 1 and at times 20 to 1 by McCain and Romney who are millionaires. Still, Huckabee came in 2nd and won Iowa and other States because of his fresh ideas. Fact is he was voted one of top 5 best governors in America because he actually balanced the budget of Arkansas several times successfully as governor 10 plus years. People can't attack his record, so they attack his religion and high morals. Mike Huckabee is a staunch defender of the 1st and 2nd Amendment and that is why many who aren't do not like him.
- Mike Huckabee sells fear to the American people via his religious standing. he didnt make the presidency because he didnt have enough money. he didnt make it because he tries to enforce christian views into politics and thats a violation of our first amendment. not to mention hes a bit of a nutcase and most people can see through his bologna.
