No kidnap charge for Marchese
The 31 year old took a toddler from Florida Hospital Altamonte Monday.

Vincent Marchese will be facing lots of charges for taking 3 year old Alex Higgs on a wild police chase, then abandoning him when he crashed his car in Maitland, but kidnapping won't be one of them. Altamonte Police have also released the 9-1-1 tapes from the incident. Marchese denied ever kidnapping the boy when he was taken down by officers and deputies near Maitland on Tuesday after an exhaustive manhunt.
"I did not kidnap him. I love that little boy man."
After investigating, Altamonte Springs Police agree. They're charging him with child neglect and interfering with custody. The 9-1-1 call was made by a man that did not know the mother, Brittany Higgs. She was standing right next to him.
"A young lady is here whose boyfriend and son disappeared about two hours ago, and she's all upset and panicky."
Even though Vincent Marchese will not face kidnapping charges, he will face a host of other counts besides the two in Altamonte Springs. In Seminole County he's looking at felony charges for fleeing and eluding, plus aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer for ramming a police car. He'll also be charged with burglary and petty theft in Orange County. Those charges stem from him hiding overnight in a family's garage, then stealing a sweat shirt to wear when he tried to run.
