Some waited nearly 24 hours to spend a few precious moments with Palin, but they all said it was worth it. Crowds started lining up Monday evening, though most who showed up early Tuesday were able to secure their place in line. The Barnes and Noble at Colonial and Bumby handed out wristbands to ensure line placement - many without a wristband never made it inside.

Those lucky enough to meet the former Alaska Governor said she was personable and chatty, and tried to say something unique to each person there.

There were concerns that Palin would be late, coming from her signing event in The Villages, but she arrived shortly before 7:30, with the event starting just a few minutes later. Palin's bus was parked in back, she was whisked inside a back door before the media caught a whiff of her arrival.

Barnes and Noble refused to say just how many books were signed, keeping the official answer at "a lot."
