Local man creates Web site to help veterans stay in business
A Central Florida man is stepping up to help veterans in the business world stay afloat.

Brian St. Ours is giving retired servicemen and women a new way to market their goods and services. He's the founder and president of a Web site that allows veterans from all over the country to list their businesses for free.
St. Ours says since he started the site on Veterans Day in 2008, 3,000 veterans have signed up.
"Some of them have one-man shops, and others have three or four locations with 150 employees," said St. Ours.
But no matter what the size of their operation, St. Ours says it's been a difficult year for veterans to stay in business.
"The goal is to make it a little bit easier for people, and especially contractors, to go find businesses owned by veterans to hopefully buy products or services from them and help them grow their business instead of doing the opposite which is closing their doors," said St. Ours.
The Brevard County man, who's a veteran himself, says so far the response has been good.
"I've talked to a lot of businesses who've told us they've actually sold products, services or signed contracts from their business listing," said St. Ours.
He says he's also getting good feedback from members of the public who like having an easy way to help out a vet.
