Clermont police are investigating a home invasion and shooting that left an innocent repair man dead. Police were called to the home on the 300 block of Bloxam Avenue Wednesday night after they received a call that several shots were fired.

When police arrived, they found two people shot inside the home. Both victims were taken to South Lake Hospital, where one was pronounced dead. The other victim is in critical condition.

Clermont police spent hours inside the home searching for evidence that may help lead them to the suspects who stormed inside and shot and killed an innocent man. Police believe the victim was making repairs to the home at the time of the shooting.

Investigators say the two armed suspects showed up at the home shouting a man's name and demanding to know where he was. When the apparent repair man couldn't tell them, he was gunned down.

Investigators say the two suspects then rushed into the home and shot a woman when she couldn't tell them where the man they were looking for was either.

The suspects took off on foot. A police dog tracked them to a nearby apartment complex, but instigators have not been able to find them.
