Gun heist: 29 weapons taken from Buffalo Bills
When employees of Buffalo Bills Shooting Store showed up for work Tuesday morning, they found their business had been broken into - and it only went down hill from there.
Sgt. Barb Jones with Orlando Police says the employees called OPD to sweep the building and make sure no one still inside. And then there was the disturbing discovery."They noticed that several guns had been stolen," Jones said.
Twenty-nine firearms in all were stolen from the store - some were high powered assault riffles like AK-47's. About 25 boxes in ammo were also taken.
"The concerning part is that when you have criminals breaking into a gun store to steal guns - if they wanted them for lawful purposes, they would have bought them."
ATF is assisting Orlando Police in their investigation. Anyone with information about the heist is urged to call Crimeline, 800-423-TIPS.
What others are saying
- Theft from Buffalo BillsThe AK47 is not "high powered"...the media's ignorance of weapons in general is ludicrous. The AK is no more powerful than your uncle's old lever action deer rifle. Lethal to be sure but certainly not the super-weapon it's made out to be by the ignorant.
