New Fla. Governor poll released Wednesday
By Mike Synan
A new poll is out showing there's a clear winner in the nasty battle between Rick Scott and Bill McCollum in the Governor's race.

The winner is Democrat Alex Sink. According to Public Policy Polling, she's gone from trailing both Scott and McCollum in the Governor's race to a commanding lead. Sink would beat Rick Scott head-to-head 36 to 30 and would fare even better against Bill McCollum 37 to 23.
Newcomer Bud Chiles is making a small dent in the race, but still shows up in the teens.
The biggest factor in the race seems to be favorable ratings, and neither Republican is getting them. The poll shows 41 percent have an unfavorable view of Rick Scott and 51 percent for McCollum.
There's a long way to go for all them, more than a quarter of voters don't know who they plan to support yet.

What others are saying
- Does virtue matterHow could anyone in their right mind consider voting for Rick Scott. The man was CEO of a company that had to pay a fine of 1.7 billion dollars and was convicted of 14 felonies. He was fired when the news broke. He should be in jail and not running for the highest office is the state. We need candidates for public office that have high moral standards. Scott does not qualify.
- Get realGive me a break. If Democrat Alex Sink wins, the one who made big bucks at Bank of America (why isn't anyone criticizing her for making big bucks like they are Scott?!?), then we are in for a longer, rough economic period. Democrats don't know how to run anything, except for into the ground!
RICK SCOTT FOR GOVERNOR! FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY, CRACKDOWN ON ILLEGALS, LOWER TAXES, REDUCED WASTEFUL SPENDING, AND COMMON SENSE BUSINESS MANAGEMENT OVER BUREAUCRATS! - Sitting Back WaitingWhile both Republican frunt runners duke it out, the Dems just sit back and wait till the smoke clears, then they will use every means to bash the winner with lies, half truths, etc. It will be an ugly election period.
- Governor's raceThe republican party is a party of idiots. I have lost respect for the entire lot. They cower to politcal correctness, they bend to opposing views and they moderate conservative values. Now, they are cutting themselves to ribbons to try and gain an advantage in a primary. I have been commenting here on WDBO.com to avoid negative attacks and focus on a message that promotes what values a candidate espouses. The race for governor on the republican side has gotten nasty and is getting nastier as the days move forward. This idiotic behavior only serves to drain each candidate's coffers and wound them so severly that any political opponent in the gerneral election can beat them. The opposing side can stand in front of a camera in a few months and say "see, even their own party thinks so and so is a liar and a crook, etc.....Why should you trust him??" The republican party is broken and filled with empty suits who fail to lead. If the republicans don't clean up their act and learn to strategize short and long term like the dems, they aren't going to take back the senate or the house.
