Lawyer says release mom so she can search for Caylee

Casey Anthony's attorney says the family can't afford her $500,000 thousand dollar bail...so now they're appealing to get it lowered.

And he's talking about what she can do, to help find Caylee.

"I need the ability to have the time to investigate if all of what's being said in the police report is true or untrue."

Jose Baez has his own ideas about how the search for Caylee should go down, and he says he needs police cooperation, including access to their recorded interviews with Casey, and having her freed from jail.

"I would like to have my client take me to everywhere that she has been over the last several weeks."

He says he wants the search efforts to concentrate in the areas Casey says they might find the babysitter.

"This is what a search is."

Casey's lawyer says what he wants to do is standard criminal defense.

"You can't go off, looking at a police report and say, 'This is 100-percent accurate.'"

Baez wants access to police tapes so he can review Casey's statements to them, and he's hoping he can get her bond low enough so Casey can personally show him where there might be more clues in finding Caylee.

"If we can backtrack where she's been, or friends that may know the babysitter, places the babysitter frequents... These are areas where we could concentrate and try and find the person who took Caylee."

Baez said earlier Casey does not know where Caylee is, "If she did, she would have told law enforcement, she would have told her family, me."
