An appeals court in Daytona has denied attorney Jose Baez's request for a new bond hearing. This decision means his client, Casey Anthony, will remain in jail unless her family is able to come up with the $500,000 bond set by a judge in Orange County court on July 22.Baez has argued that the bond amount is excessive, and he says the search for 2-year-old Caylee Anthony would be helped with Casey out of jail.
Earlier today, the state Attorney General Office wrote that the bond amount was fair and that Casey's lawyer had, "failed to show the trial court abused its discretion."
Late in the day, a spokeswoman for the Baez law firm confirmed they are going to appeal to the Florida Supreme Court."We've already begun in the process of doing that," she said.
