Diana Bosch 8-4-08Captain Angelo Nieves with the Orange County Sheriff's Office says when DNA results come back from Casey Anthony's car they won't be able to release them to the public because it may hinder the investigation.
"We will not offer verification on lab items because this may be detrimental to the ongoing search for Caylee," he said.
At a press conference held Monday, Nieves told a large group of media detectives from other units have been pulled in to work on the search for Caylee. They continue to meet with the Anthony family as well as Casey Anthony's closest friends questioning them about the missing toddler's mother.
"It's extremely important that we find Caylee and bring her back home," Nieves said.
Last Friday, investigators carried away two brown paper bags containing gas cans. Nieves says they are looking at the cans for fingerprints. At this time they do not believe the cans were used in any foul play.
Nieves says tips keep pouring in, but many of them lack credibility. He strongly encourages anyone with information to call CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS.
