Heather Jackson came to WDBO during her last semester at UCF in the Spring of 2005, as an intern for Central Florida's Morning News with Jim Turner.
At that same time, she was also producing and hosting her own show at the college on WGKN, a student run radio station. Working in a real radio station helped to boost her show, "The Corner" to rank number one for campus shows.
Weeks after graduating from UCF with a BA in Radio/Television Productions, she took off to Atlanta to work with Neal Boortz at our sister station, WSB. While there, she worked in programming and production, and even got a chance to work with The FairTax Book tour, with Neal Boortz and John Linder.
When she returned from the Summer internship, her loyalty to WDBO got her into producing nearly a dozen of the "Ask The Expert" weekend shows. In less than a year she was hired for the full time, overnight news anchor/ board operator position. She also produced the Andrea Shea King Show Sunday nights from 9:00-11:00pm for the last two years that Andrea was at WDBO.
September 2007 she became engaged while on vacation in Naples, and married the love of her life, Bob Hazen, September 13, 2008. The two had been dating 2 and a half years. They spent a week in Hemmingway-land for their honeymoon and watched many sunsets.
She recently escaped the graveyard shift and has been moved to the mid-day shift. She is also updating both Neal and Clark's pages.
