Chris Rock calls Democrats ‘stupid’ for wanting to arrest Trump, saying it will only empower him

On Sunday, comedian Chris Rock addressed politicians who are looking to indict or arrest former President Donald Trump.

Rock questioned their motives and mocked the possibility of Trump being arrested, stating it would likely only make him more popular.

The Wall Street Journal echoed Rock’s sentiment, cautioning prosecutors to consider the potential harm to confidence in the rule of law that would likely result from a politically charged prosecution.

Similarly, Republican voters in Iowa expressed their doubts, arguing that any dirt on Trump would have already been uncovered given his long history of being under a microscope.

From Breitbart:

In an appearance Sunday at the Kennedy Center to honor Adam Sandler with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, Chris Rock appeared to address Democrat lawmakers in the audience, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

“Are you guys really going to arrest Trump?” Rock said, according to a report from The Daily Mail. “Do you know this is only going to make him more popular? It’s like arresting Tupac.”

Rock added: “He’s just gonna sell more records. Are you stupid?”
