Florida abortion rights plan polls well

A non-partisan Florida group is working to ensure that abortion rights are enshrine in the state’s constitution.

Volunteers with Florida Women’s Freedom Coalition are collecting about 75,000 signatures weekly in order to get the measure on the ballot on November 5, 2024, and make sure that it passes by the required 60 percent threshold.

The group’s internal polling shows the amendment has broad support: 70 percent overall in Florida.

The executive director says, “This is bipartisan. We have people with no party affiliation. People who hate politics. People who are extremely left. People who are extremely right. People who are libertarian and think government shouldn’t exist. You name it.”
