Florida man discovers shark head and fins on the beach

The parts were found within a 20 foot area

A Tampa man out for a walk with his dog on the beach discovered what he calls a clean-cut shark head and fins.

David Schur told NBC affiliate WFLA-TV he saw the objects while walking in a secluded section of a dog beach Sunday near the Davis Island area of Tampa.

He snapped several photos of the shark parts and sent them to his wife who suggested they may have been cut off.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has guidelines on its website regarding sharks.

It says all sharks are “required to remain in whole condition until landed,” but “gilling and evisceration while on waters or in a fishing location is allowed.”
