Officials at an Indiana jail have confiscated a pair of eight-and-a-half inch scissors, which they found stuffed inside a convicted criminal’s butt.
The discovery was made while the unidentified man was being admitted to La Port County Jail, says Lieutenant Jeff Holt. Jail officials, who became suspicious when the man refused to be searched, discovered the scissors while performing an electronic body scan, Holt says. They “observed what appeared to be a foreign object inside the anal cavity of the arrestee,” he adds. The scissors were removed “without incident,” Holt says.
La Porte County Sheriff’s Captain Derek J. Allen is praising Holt for finding the stinky scissors. “Lieutenant Holt is commended for relying upon his training and experience, and successfully preventing a dangerous edged object from making its way fully into the jail,” he says.
