POLK COUNTY, FLORIDA — More than 100 people were taken into custody in Polk County during a 6-day undercover prostitution sting dubbed 'Operation March Sadness.'
Deputies say a total of 104 suspects were arrested, ranging in ages from 23-years-old to 63-years-old. Many were prostitutes while others were busted for paying for sex. According to WESH, some of the suspects were married. One person was arrested for traveling to meet a minor.
The focus of 'Operation March Sadness' was to catch those advertising illegal prostitution services online and to help identify victims of human trafficking.
