ORLANDO, Fla. — Today, the Orlando Police Department is releasing information about the arrest of an additional suspect involved in the vehicle burglary on December 26th at 4881 Cypress Woods Drive.

OPD detectives identified suspect Jackson Similus, 9/1/98.
He has been arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Felony Murder and Burglary of a Conveyance.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Police in Orlando are investigating a deadly shooting Thursday.
Officers said the shooting happened around 5:18 a.m. at the Summergate Apartments on Cypress Woods Drive.
Police said a man was shot while breaking into a car and died at the scene.
Officers said the shooter also remained at the scene.
A spokesperson for the Orange County Jail confirmed with Channel 9 that the shooter was an off-duty corrections officer.
Officials said an investigation into the deadly shooting is ongoing.
