ORLANDO, Fla. — A federal judge has temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s attempt to freeze billions of dollars in federal aid.

Critics are concerned the plan would disrupt programs that serve millions of Americans.

This could impact everything from education to healthcare, including programs like school lunches, the Head Start program, and Meals on Wheels for seniors.

Confusion continues surrounding a Trump administration order that caused chaos and left many organizations scrambling for clarification, including some in Central Florida.

Federal grants and loans provide hundreds of billions of dollars to education, health care, disaster relief, and infrastructure.

The White House defended the funding freeze, saying it’s needed to ensure that programs don’t contradict President Trump’s agenda.

Twenty-two states and the District of Columbia are now suing the Trump administration over the funding freeze.
