A Washington man is lucky to be alive after crashing his pickup truck into a gas pump, causing an explosion and fire.
KOMO News reports crash happened Thursday morning at a gas station in Everett. Snohomish County deputies say the 31-year-old driver likely fell asleep while behind the wheel.
His vehicle hopped a curb and plowed into the gas pump igniting the fire.
The unidentified man stayed inside the vehicle for about 40 seconds before jumping out and running away.
Employees were able to shut off the gas to the pump before the fire grew out of control.
The driver appeared to be uninjured in the crash. It's unclear whether he will face any charges.
