Daytona Beach Police Officer Jason Raynor has died 2 months after being shot in the line of duty

Daytona Beach, Fla. — Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young, Tuesday night, announced the passing of officer Jason Raynor.

The 26-year-old officer was shot in the head while on patrol in Daytona Beach at the end of June and had remained in critical condition at Halifax Health.

Raynor, who had been with the Daytona Beach police dept. for about three years passed at 8:09 p.m. on Tuesday. His family was by his side.

Othal Wallace, the man who faces charges for shooting Raynor, is in custody without bond and has pleaded not guilty to the charge of attempted first degree murder of a law enforcement officer.
