Former Survivor contestant dies in freak accident

Caleb Bankston was only 26 when he was crushed by a derailed train car while working at a Alabama coal plant.

He was in Survivor last year with his fiancé Colton Cumbie and came in ninth place.

Bankston was a train engineer and conductor while working on the Alabama Warrior Railway, and was standing on the ladder of a hopper car Tuesday afternoon.

He was directing another engineer who was backing up a train when the car suddenly derailed.

The derailment threw Bankston from the train car, and the car then fell on top of him.

When police arrived on scene, Bankston had already passed away.

Colton and Bankston were set to get married in October.
