The group was on their way out for a day of diving research in the waters off Key West Tuesday when they spotted the turtle which appeared to be tangled in two lobster traps.

After closer inspection they determined the rope was around its right front flipper and neck.

One of the biologists held the turtle while a second cut the rope.

After a bit of a struggle, the turtle is finally freed and swims off.
