Get a sneak peek of Seaworld’s new Pipeline surf coaster

ORLANDO, FL — Seaworld has debuted its newest member of the roller coaster fleet; Pipeline: The Surf Coaster

Pipeline is a standing roller coaster that takes guests on a surf-like ride. It goes up to 60 mph with over two thousand feet of track over one minute ride time. This coaster also features unique seats that move up and down, similar to the movement of waves when riding a surfboard.

Rob McNicholas, VP of Operations at Seaworld Orlando, says the seat is the main star of the show. “Your seat is fluid, it moves the entire time...the seat is what makes this ride. The movement of the seat, the air time, it just really makes it stand out”

McNicholas says riders can expect to move at least 2 inches up and down throughout the duration of the coaster.

The ride will have a minimum height of 54 inches and a maximum of 78 inches. The manufacturer behind Pipeline, B&M, is also behind some of the most popular rides in the park, including Manta, Mako, and Kracken.

Seaworld’s Pipeline: The surf coaster will debut to pass holders on Friday, May 12th, and to the general public on May 27th.
