Florida governor Ron DeSantis has made quite a few new fans since taking office in January and a new poll shows he is making gains with some Florida voters.
Washington D.C.-based U.S. Term Limits recently ordered a survey to be done by Pulse Opinion Research to ask Florida voters how they feel about the new governor.
According to the poll, DeSantis has a 64 percent job approval rating among Florida voters, versus just 24 percent who disapprove.
85 percent of Florida Republicans approve of DeSantis. The governor has a 60 percent approval rating among independents, while 24 percent disapprove.
Term Limits executive director Nick Tomboulides tells News 96.5 WDBO that high approval rating places DeSantis in elite company.
“So, that’s a net approval of 40 points and if that holds, that would place him among the most popular governors in America when you compare him to the other rankings of different governors in the country,” said Tomboulides.
DeSantis is also making significant gains among Florida democrats, garnering 46 percent approval versus 39 percent who disapprove.
Also noteworthy, DeSantis has a 62 percent approval rate among Hispanic voters. White voters gave him a 68 percent approval rating, while African Americans gave DeSantis a 40 percent approval rating.
