Saint Cloud, Fla. — A school in Osceola County has chosen to remain virtual for at least two weeks after the district reported that 10 teachers tested positive for the coronavirus.
Superintendent Debra Pace told WFTV that “students in 6th,7th and 8th grades potentially had direct exposure to those teachers. One of the individuals was someone who had been substituting across multiple classrooms.”
The district says all students and teachers who are doing face to face learning will switch to virtual starting on Monday. They are scheduled to return to campus for face to face learning on Sept. 14th.
Although this will impact roughly 600 students and 78 teachers, the district says those who are already engaged in digital learning will not be affected.
On Saturday, the school has also been used as a testing site, which will be in operation from 9 am until 1 pm.
