Kansas State marching band apologizes for inappropriate field formation

KSU's marching band is apologizing for what they says was an accident.

The K-State band's halftime performance on Saturday depicted the Starship Enterprise encountering a University of Kansas Jayhawk, but some onlookers say the formation was X-rated.

Instead of displaying the starship Enterprise from Star Trek, they apparently made what looks like a giant penis. Frank Tracz, direct of the Kansas State marching band, issued the band's apology and explanation on Twitter.

"There was absolutely no intent to display anything other than the Enterprise and the Jayhawk in battle," wrote Tracz. "If I am guilty of anything it would the inability to teach the drill in a manner that these young people could have succeeded. I do apologize for the misinterpretation and I assure you that I mean absolutely no disrespect or malice toward the University of Kansas."
