, known for their single-serve pods of coffee, is hoping their new fresh-brewed soup cups will fire up their sales.

Keurig and Campbell's Soup Company have partnered to create single-serve Fresh-Brewed soup in K-Cups that contain only 70 calories each. Consumers can choose from Homestyle Chicken Broth & Noodle or Southwest Style Chicken Broth & Noodle.

The new K-Cups have been two years in the making to ensure that the companies got 'the product right,' according to Marketing Director of Innovation at Campbell Soup Michael Goodman.

reports:

The Campbell's Fresh-Brewed Soup Kits come with a packet of noodles and a K-Cup pod of soup, which is placed into the Keurig machine. Goodman said some consumers worried the "soup would taste like coffee, or coffee would taste like soup," so Keurig suggests running a brew cycle after making soup.

Just weeks ago, Keurig announced plans to cut 5% of its workforce due to low sales. Campbell has also been plagued by a sales slump with revenue falling 8.6% in the last quarter.
