Kissimmee man arrested after Hialeah boy, 15, dies in crash near Disney World

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —

A Kissimmee man was jailed Saturday after causing a four-vehicle crash near Walt Disney World that killed a 15-year-old South Florida boy, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Carlos Torres, 24, of Kissimmee, was driving a 2015 Toyota sedan at about 8:45 a.m. when he crashed into two cars stopped at a red light at State Road 535 and Meadow Creek Drive, FHP Sgt. Kim Montes said.    Richard Delgado, 15, of Hialeah, was sitting in a back seat of a 2016 Nissan sedan that Torres crashed into, Montes said. Delgado was brought to Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.   The Nissan’s driver, Roberto Delgado, 47, also of Hialeah, was seriously injured in the crash.   Torres, who wasn’t injured, was arrested and charged with drug-related DUI manslaughter, Montes said.   Troopers closed northbound lanes of SR 535 while they investigated the crash.
