According to a report from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Lady Lake Police pulled over 60-year-old Donald Eugene Fields II for a routine traffic stop around 9:15 a.m. at U.S. Highway 27/441 at Rolling Acres Road.

Fields has been on the run since March of 2022 after failing to appear in court, according to investigators.

The license plate on his vehicle didn’t match the vehicle it was registered to.

Fields was federally indicted in St. Louis on Dec. 7, 2023, on one count of child sex trafficking.

Fields II is also facing charges including statutory rape, statutory sodomy, child molestation, and witness tampering in Franklin County Circuit Court in Missouri.

The FBI gave praise to LPD for the work they did. “Thanks to proactive policing by the Lady Lake Police Department, one of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted fugitives has been captured,” said Special Agent in Charge Johnson.

Fields is set to appear in federal court in Florida.
