The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is announcing the capture of a man wanted for the 2013 murder of a tutor at Orange Center Elementary School.

Michael Ault, a Valencia College student, was 21 years-old when he was killed on September 6, 2013.   Investigators say he went to buy marijuana from JonPaul Gonzalez and Eduardo “Eddie” Viteri-Perez, but the two of them tried to rob him.  Ault fought back and was shot in the chest.  He later died in the hospital.

Investigators said Ault was a "good kid," who like many others, was trying to buy some marijuana.

Gonzalez was later arrested in Puerto Rico and confessed to detectives.  In 2015, he was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Viteri-Perez vanished and was wanted for murder and armed robbery with a firearm.

On Friday, Jane Watrel of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office announced that the US Marshalls arrested Viteri-Perez in the Dominican Republican.

He’s currently in the Miami-Dade County Jail and will be brought to the Orange County Jail on July 12.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says they thank the Marshals for “bringing this fugitive to justice.”
