Man who sold fentanyl-laced cocaine that killed Orlando mother faces life in prison

Orlando, Fla. — A man has been found guilty by a federal jury for selling cocaine laced with fentanyl.

The drugs eventually killed an Orlando mother.

According to the criminal complaint, 25-year-old Jonathan "Jonah"  Bohn sold a baggy of cocaine laced with fentanyl and heroin to the victim in December 2017.

Her daughter found her dead in the bathroom the next morning.

She told Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies her mother had battled with an addiction to cocaine and Xanax, but had been doing well until she “fell off the wagon.”

“Final lab results from the DEA's Southeast Laboratory indicate that the Green Bag contained heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and lidocaine residue,” the complaint says.

The Orange County medical examiner's office ruled the death an overdose.

The DEA tracked down Bohn using the victim's phone.

In text messages listed in the complaint, the victim thought she was buying heroin and was suspicious of the drugs.

Bohn faces life in federal prison, if convicted.

“I would like to commend the efforts of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office narcotics unit, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for their hard work and dedication. This collaborative effort between the agencies aided in the successful prosecution in this case,” said OCSO Sheriff John Mina.
